The laser tubes have to be small and are therefore under powered. Typically 300mw or 1/3 of a watt.  Any real laser Will be 40 to 60 watts. I know most folks will not want to put out several grand for a real american made laser cutter engraver.
There are alternatives. you an get a cheap import machine fro around $ 300  on e-bay . 1/5-10 the cost of a bigger more usable unit but IMHO a lot more usable than a tiny under power  printer attachment.
Something to think about.
