I had one of these and they are pretty nice. I ended up selling it to a friend who wanted one but couldn't find them any more.
they now have come out with the 1.5 version which has some improvements. So if size isn't a issue then sure go for it.

So I've had my da vinci for probably 10 months now. It was an awesome gateway into 3d printing. I've had very few issues. I"ve had many failed prints but many more beautiful prints i've used for prototypes and iterative design. We do have that other thread handling the printer DRM and they're very close to finding an easy solution (operative word is easy, I'm aware they're already resetting chips). In the meantime though, I am still very upset with the printer DRM. Also my printer isn't as precyse as I'd like it to be. I don't much care for the occasional x-gantry sag, I have belt tension issues that make small circles into lemons, and the tensioner pulley on my y-gantry is close to failing. Lastly I don't feel like I can customize my printer. It took me nine months to get comfortable taking off the door and side panel. One of the coolest things about 3D printers is being able to print new parts and upgrade and I feel like the design of this printer is limited in that area. I want to add a fan shroud but I wouldn't know where to put it. I guess I could upgrade the Z-gantry, that part looks simple enough and making it taller would definitely help with the sagging issue but idk it feels like its time to move on.

TLDR; I'm thinking about selling my da vinci jr. and buying a fabrikator mini.

I am a little turned off by the smaller build volume but I do like the smaller desk foot print. The DVjr feels so bulky and I feel like I might be able to design parts to expand the print volume. there are plenty of upgrades out there for it too. It supports an LCD and SD card and the firmware can be flashed with the arduino IDE. Any thoughts? Price point is $176 fully assembled with shipping.
