I've recently encountered the same problem as the OP but haven't had a chance to work it through. I read somewhere that it may be a blown inline fuse... they look like a real PIA to replace. This is happening on a 1.0A... is that the same model you have jamp2112?

I removed mine and soldered the wires together.
