]]> Mon, 29 Feb 2016 04:44:12 +0000 https://www.soliforum.com/post/118284/#p118284 <![CDATA[Re: Hot End Shorted]]> https://www.soliforum.com/post/118272/#p118272 What resistance did you measure to determine your hot end was shorted?  I'm not sure what the resistance is on the Davinci 1.o hot end but it should be in the 2 to 6 ohm range.  Also what meter did you use?  Some meters have difficulty measuring this low of a resistance accurately.  These printers have been know to have trouble with the cheap connectors to the hot end. You can disconnect and confirm you have 12 VDC to the connector.  If you do it's probably the connector.  I just soldered my together (see the attached picture).  If it truly was shorted your control board would likely be damaged due to over current.

I checked resistance of the two insulated wires and found they were shorted. The Davinci site wants to charge me 99 dollars for a whole hot end with no option of just  heating element. Can any one offer me any help on what to do?
