I have definitely had motor skipping due to overheating stepper drivers.  I now have a fan on my board which helps, plus I'm installing little heatsinks for each stepper driver today.  Z-lift can overstress stepper drivers, if you have that on try turning it off.

thats exacly what mine did too when over working steppers and no cooling fan on MB. also like Azerate said. ABS when doing large prints over an hour MUST have inclosed build area and stay warm. as for smeel ABS always smells and is toxic thats why I use a cheap charcoal filtered exuast fan from Walmart Holmes brand $15 get extra charcoal trimmable filter material too and replace every 3 months at least. wont eleminate odors 100% unless vented outside but helps with toxic part

I had my Solidoodle 4 for about 2 years, and after i made a bunch of upgrades and got it calibrated, it have really ben printed flawless.

That is until yesterday, where i wanted to print a low-poly dragon in 300%. I have attaches a picture of the print, and to me it looks like it layer shifted in two axis at the same time?! I checked the gcode and it looks perfect.

Its really weird because i haven't had any trouble with the 3 prints i did today, and i have never had layer shifting before. Any ideas?
