By watching the second print, the extruder was in the back left corner of the print bed. The cable bundle was jammed back in the corner by the end stop switch when the print jumped.

I printed out the belt guard and the cables no longer jam back in the corner. Bothy copies I printed with the guard in place came out fine.

This is very weird. Do let us know if you figure out what the cause of this is. Could the end stop just be dying?

I'm having the same endstop problem. It would happen at the same point of the print, the second perimeter of gear teeth (but not the first). Nothing was touching the endstops at all. It may be the same problem with the solder, but I'm doing a workaround right now. In firmware in Configuration_adv.h there is a line that can be uncommented that will have the endstops ignored at all times other than homing.

Simplified the 3D views, and printed out the belt guard, and it printed fine.

Watching the good print go from layer 3 to 4, the carriage was in the back left corner. Perfect place for the cable bundle to hit the endstop.

The soldered connection on my endstops worked their way loose. It started out intermittently showing as endstop hit and after investigating I found the wires were only held in place by the shrink wrap. After resoldering I no longer had the problems.

Try lowering/disabling your 3d settings in Repetier. My system was locking up about the same point before I lowered these.

Config -> 3D View Configuration -> General ->
Draw Method =VBO's(Fastest)

Config -> 3D View Configuration -> Model ->
Disable show edges

Config -> 3D View Configuration -> Filament ->
Disable Travel Move Visualization
Filament Visualization = Simple

Here's the .stl Pretty simple item, other than it was exported as 8mm instead of the 8cm it's supposed to be.

I just scaled it up to 10x in Repetier.

If it is not some weird software thing it may be losing steps when it goes for infill at higher speed(try lowering infill speed to same as solid) if it is this then you may need to check the driver voltages or any mechanical reasons it may lose steps.

One other thing... could you post the stl file just in case it is the cause indirectly.

Second time it's done it on the same item.
Repetier-Host Mac .40 Slicer with Ian's settings. Tweaked for my setup.

Slic3r .9.3 Sliced twice and it still messes up.

It happens the layer when it goes from solid to infill. I don't know if it has anything to do with it or not.

Repetier Status gives me this:
3:47:27 PM: Printing layer 1 of 15
3:50:39 PM: Printing layer 2 of 15
3:56:12 PM: Printing layer 3 of 15
< 4:00:47 PM: echo:endstops hit: Y:112.89
< 4:00:50 PM: echo:endstops hit: Y:111.49

4:01:41 PM: Printing layer 4 of 15

I wasn't watching it exactly, just looked up and saw it trailing a bit of filament on the extruder. Here's a pic.

Any ideas? I can copy the gcode here if needed.
