It will work at 190 but the chip in that cart sets it to 212. 212 is also 5 to 10 degrees above actual as well. So again 190 is closer to what the filament really works with.

Hm, ok ill do a little more research on what settings to use in slic3r. And nope, no support on that model. I started printing it on xyzware and got most of it done then had an unrelated issue and had to stop.

And really, too hot? Hm...i'm running it at 220 in the slic3r settings, and the default extruder temperature in repetier host is 210. Max extruder temp set at 240.

Using stock abs filament from xyzware still, Thats too hot? I know the stock firmware heated it to 212, so i can do that if i need to...it just surprises me because i see people print much higher temps with abs with no issues.

Just so you know the stock ABS from XYZ is not normal ABS it is specially formulated to work at 190 which is the normal print temp for a stock Da Vinci for ABS.

I don't even.  I haven't started a new print yet,  and I had to leave the house until later tonight so I can't do anything to my printer right now,  but....the texture on the lumpy part is...smooth. no lines in the side.  Did I royally screw up my printer somehow?

Oh...I was doing what the bed leveling for beginners thread said, so do i actually pick manual calibration on the printers settings screen ? Or do I just start a random print and do the paper method?

That method is universal and is based on the normsl method of starting a print per firmware. If you are using Repetier firmware then you would start a print through Repetier Host instead of a demo print. I was not even aware you could access the demo prints once Repetier firmware was installed.
