There is a running thread on the subject.</p><p>When you print it also writes data to that chip as well to keep track of the amount of filament left. So while you could put a stock spool in and print fron another after market, it will stop you when it thinks that spool is too low. Then you will have also wasted a stock spool as it is now useless.</p>]]></description>
