Interesting. Although I see several XYZ printers on the compatible devices list I don't see the Da Vinci Pro. Does anyone know if it's compatible? I'm considering purchasing the software if it's worth the money.

The Pro is not currently supported but I have read in other threads that they are working on supporting it for Simplify3D.  Perhaps try contacting them directly to verify this.

I don't have a pro, so I can't answer officially. I use it on my CTC but I also use PETG which has similar strength to Polycarbonate but the ease of PLA. Not sure the pro could do the 265 needed for it. I have used PLA as well and found supports still much easier to remove with S3D over other host and slicer combos.

A fail-safe would be to sink it halfway down into the build-plate, print two, and glue together.

I'm going to try this. I did not know the software would allow me to print an item if it was not grounded. If that fails I may try to import the file into blender and see if I can split it into two pieces that way.

I tried this. The supports even when set at lowest setting are nearly impossible to break off because the bevel is so close to the surface of the print bed. Sanding them off is also incredibly difficult and use of a dremel only causes the PLA to heat up to much and melt causing deformation.

Problem I run into is that although the bevel should be symmetrical on the top and bottom, it appears that gravity makes it so the bottom flattens out a bit and becomes quite a bit more shallow than the top. What print settings might I tweak to fix this?

Using da Vinci pro
Hatchbox PLA.
10% infill.
.15 layer height
5 top layers
5 normal
3 infill.

I don't remember the speed settings I have for the extruder but I'll post those shortly when I get home.
