Should have done this sooner as when I originally received my SD3 and was unpacking the set screw for that side fell out of the bubble wrap and all I did was put it back and just tightened.  didn't even think about the alignment or the collar not being down all the way.

Started printing the MK4parts and have a little excess on the perimeters of the piece and think I just need to calibrate the extruder and recheck the Z axis as it looks like it is placing too much and/or squishing the layers.

A little more fine tuning and I think I'll be 100% running.

OK, so I spend way too much time watching my printer.  I just started a 6h print that almost fills my entire bed when I noticed this clicking noise.  Any chance this could be coming from the wheel that is feeding the filament into the extruder?  I think mine is clicking and skipping because it's trying to feed it too fast.  Could you guys take a look at yours and let me know if you think it's the same problem?

BTW I'm printing with PLA if that makes any difference.

I'll take a look tonight to see butmine appears to be coming from the Idler on the right side of the x-axis.  If I watch it carefully it looks like the idler raises and lowers instead of staying straight in line with with the x-axis motor

I am fully aware that it is my own fault, but the x-axis of my SD3 also seems to be doing weird things. It was not buzzing before, but now there is a clear buzzing sound coming from the movement of the x-motor. It started just around the time that I accidentally manually moved the x axis past 0 in RH... It doesn't seem to change the print quality, but it is sort of worrisome. Any thoughts on how to fix it? Are you sure it's on the right hand side? A very similar thing happened to me some weeks ago, it took me some time to figure out the source of the noise but it turned out to be the X motor itself. Try removing the belt and make the motor rotate.

I could print fine for a few more weeks, sometimes the noise would just go away only to reappear a few days later. At some point I could not get a single print without skipped layers, so I changed the motor, and now everything is fine.

Try to check if it's the motor: if it is, order a spare one and keep it just in case.

Also, noticed that prints seem to be exhibiting a "SKIP" as they click happens.  Anyone else hear of this or know what I should look at 1st?

only thing I did not check last evening was the set screw on the idler.
