Thanks for the advice Carl and Ironman. I have my printer plugged in to the same power strip as my PC. I'll move it to it's own and do some tests. Thanks a ton for the help! I don't have anything large like an AC or heater it's just a small home office.

Thanks again!

^what he said...

I had a portable AC unit cooling my workspace in the summer. Kicking on and off would almost certainly freeze the printer with no apparent errors on RH. Put it on a different circuit and hasn't happened since.

Make sure the printer is not plugged into a AC mains circuit that has a fan, heater, or fluorescent light, or motor connected to it as well. When the power is removed from inductive loads such as these they send a surge back through the line and this sometimes cause things like these printers to freak out. You can hear what i mean if you have an audio system plugged into the same circuit as a ceiling fan and you turn the fan off. You will hear a pop in the audio system.

Many other things could cause this but we need to eliminate externals first.

I'm having issues with my Solidoodle 4 where my printer will stop at a point and no longer responds to commands, but Repetier thinks the printer is still going at 100x speed.

I have tested with a new usb port, new usb cable, tested a number of repetier versions all with the same result.

50% of the time the print works perfectly. but the other 50% the print fails because of this reason. It will happen at different time during the print, it happens with different stl files, it happens with different slicers.

Has anyone else seen this before? I can add pictures and screenshots if that would help.
