This was the cause for most of my shifted prints on my i3. Almost always was curling of an overhang. I added a cooling fan and upped the perimeters and infill on prints that skip often and that's worked for me.

The short answer is yes. But, it could also be something as simple as over extrusion or curling of an edge of the part you are printing. The nozzle catches and it skips because it can't overcome the force needed to stay on track.

My workbench does this as well, almost every print. It's not a adhesion issue for me, my model is stuck solid to the platform. For me it's a skip in the Y axis usually. I hear a click and then I come running and find my print has shifted. I've tried adjusting my belts and aligning the two rods, but nothing eliminates this skip; I've tried every tip and instruction found to adjust the moving parts. Could it be a bad motor or a bent frame that is putting tension on the rods?

It sounds like you've narrowed down the cause of the shifting to the edges of your ABS prints warping. You mentioned putting on some ABS glue after the fact to stop it, are you using ABS glue on the bed before you start printing? Also what bed temps are you using? For ABS I print on glass with hairspray @ 115C and have an enclosure on, but ABS glue should work just as well, if not better.

I add the glue right after it does the self leveling. I was using 110 for the bed and 205 for the extruder. I will post a pic from my phone in a few min. Thank you for the reply.

I am not real sure what is causing this issue but the printer seems to be shifting in the middle of a print. I also like to print in abs so after it levels out I even put down some abs glue to make sure it sticks down really well.

I also have a question for the workbench guys. Would you say it is best to print in pla or abs. I do have a enclosure so the heat is staying inside. Any help would be awesome for I have yet to get a good print off this thing.
