Either way, if you have access to the SD card (which isn't difficult), you can simply transfer the gcode file to the card then start the print from the LCD.
This way, you don't need the computer connected at all.

With stock firmware and S3D you can turn the computer off. The job is transfered to the sd card in your printer. Don't know how this is when using repetier.
Uli

Hello everyone,

I have just registered to this forum, and I see a lot of places where I am able to help out. But to kick start my time here, I have a question which I am unsure of.

I currently have a print going which will take another 6 hours. I have just received something in the mail which I need to put in my computer ASAP. My question is, if I was to turn my computer off, would the prints stop? I am using Repetier Firmware on one machine, and on another machine, I am using stock firmware with Simplify3D. I have Da Vinci 1.0's and am curious as to whether the prints will stop or keep soldiering on after I turn my computer off.

Thanks everyone, looking forward to helping out around here.

Ryan
