switchblade have you looked at the plastic scribblers? For $569 you get everything you want in a SD3 plus a bit more.
SD3 closed source but not a big deal ps open source so you can download part files and print spare parts.
And for $100 more you get lcd controller and a working SD card slot.

the ps will print nylon ,ninjaflex , colorfab xt out of the box. SD3 has a limited extruder temp of 230c. so you are limited to pla and abs. sd has a poor rep for product support. ps uses standard ramps controler so if a driver fails you replace on driver not the whole board. Also you can upgrade the drivers if you like. you get an extra 1.5 inches in the z axis over the sd3.

The SD line of products are not bad. I have had an sd4 for over a year pretty much still stock just added glass build plate and a well nut. the only repair I have made is a bit of glue on one of the carriages. I get decent prints from PLA and I can use inexpensive materials. I do not regret my decision to buy an SD4 . and the 4 is a 3 with a nice case and a couple of minor upgrades.

If you can afford a new printer get one that has a good extruder that can handle engineering plastics such as nylon and PET+

http://www.plasticscribbler.com/index.p … 3d-printer

No affiliation I just happen to think the PS line is a good value American made product.

Tin falcon
