yea i would bet your models have issues after export to stl. As mentioned run though netfab, do a simple repair and replace of model, export as stl optimized and it will probably be fine.

I had problems when I was using sketchup with stl's. It's ok for simple shapes but once you start doing anything other than a bit of a square you tend to get your face's back to front etc..

Try Netfabb basic to fix your repairs, it's free software and works very well. Grab it from http://www.netfabb.com/

I now use inventor and haven't had any problems since.

Steve

I have a huge problem with the slicing soft provided by XYZ. I can live with crappy interface, but I need my .3w file to be rendered correctly. Unfortunately, XYZware is apparently possesed by demons because this is how it slices:

First, the most extreme case. Here is the base geometry:

And here is the .3w file:

Ok. I can understand - lot of small, 2D surfaces, it can be confusing for the soft... But then I created the 100% correct, simple and explicit geometry:

Which turned out like that:

Some holes are plugged, others aren't printed at all...

Why does XYZware does this to me? Am I doing something wrong? How to fix it? Is there any way to use Slic3r with 2.0?
