i have tried 45 and 0.  i will now try like 10 or so.   i am using slic3r 1.1.7

I have tried all the angles for the exact same print.  NO supports are made.  ALL the prints come out the exact same.  I ALWAYS have to stop the print.  These Supports are NOT made.  i have tried 0 degrees 10, 20, 45, 60, 70, 90.  NONE WORK

what do you recommend as a degree?  example picture i have been trying to print.  notice the head overhang

This is an honest question, does the slicer that comes with the Press not have a "generate support" option?  I find this incredibly hard to believe as this is the first I've heard of this.

For overhangs as they are called you have to set your slicer to generate supports. You then break those supports away after the print is done and cools fully.

it won't work for the solidoodle press...

If the slicer the press uses will not allow you to generate supports then you are limited to printing items that have a limited overhang or you will need to design the item with supports as part of the design then trim or break them away once printed. That may just be a limitation to that printer and one reason for it's lower price.
