Your motors will also run 100% quiter with Repetier firmware. The stock firmware is pushing way too much current to them which makes them louder than they should be and will cause them to fail.

The neck/heatbreak of the hotend cannot do PLA physically because it heats up too high and swells the PLA before it gets into the actual heated section of the hotend. Users have reported varying success by adding heatsink fins to the neck to allow for better heat dissipation with a fan.

As far as adjusting the temps at all without using any software, if you are on the right firmware, you might be able to get a cartridge reset/setting tool that will allow you to change the temps on the embedded chips of the filament canisters. Basically you would program some canister for a certain temp, install it in the back, then run your PLA or what have you. go to http://wctek.com/xyz/ for compatibility.

Hi guys,

I'm trying to find open mod software that can work with 1.0A. I have downloaded a version of the .exe file but it does not work with 1.0A. It doesn't show davinci 1.0A in the printers section.

My other question is, if I can't find the to open mod software, is there a way to print PLA? I have build a fan holder to keep temperatures low for PLA, but I assume, bed and nozzle temperatures also need to be set before printing. Is there a way to do that without bricking the printer?
