The temp issue is usually caused by the connector on the little PCB in the head being bad. You can replace it with an alternate as long as the pin spacing is the same or solder the wires from the thermistor directly to the board.

As for the card, in stock form there are no files on that card it uses for start up. It verifies the card is there because when you send a file to the printer from XYZware it gets dumped to that card as a file called offline_print.gcode. So the printer will not boot if the card is missing or plugged in wrong simply because it verifies it's presence at boot. But there is nothing on it that is need to boot.

If you where to switch to Repetier firmware then the card would be used as the EEPROM that the firmware needs to store settings and then machine does need that to boot.

Yep I have had the error for months on my 1.0.
I replaced the heatbed after it cracked with a Pursa MKIIB, did some prints no probs. came back a few days later to some more and got the error 0013. I thought maybe I damaged the thermistor but pretty sure it checks out ok. I get the error with it attached or not.
Thinking the new bed pulls more amps I bought a bigger power supply and installed it today...no diff. Hence I'm here looking for answers. Until you came along, I thought I was alone
I have discovered the SD card position is very sensitive. If all the way in I get 0040 instead. But I wonder if the files are corrupted and it has nothing to do with temperature (mine faults at start up - yours?)

So I've got a Brand new Duo 2.0. It ran for a bit and then stopped, reporting Error 0013. XYZ's documentation is useless, simply saying :

Check if the cables of print bed are properly connected.
Check position of temperature sensor between heating element and insulator.

The cables are all connected. I can make a guess about the sensor but you can't see much of it. There is nothing about how to access it or remove the bed or do anything. It also doesn't help that when the unit is in an error state the light blinks on and off in time to the buzzer.

Anyhow, anyone have any thoughts? Have you encountered this yourself? What did you do? If it's a software error might switching to Repetier fix it? I was thinking of doing this anyway.

Thanks!
