The extruder actually has plenty of power to strip the filament now that is why the low power

Fair point . I have had situations where the extruder skips, though. But I realize, with your point, that there isn't much room to gain, because of the stripping situation.

I was setting up new pololu boards earlier today, after I stupidly blew up my old ones when upgrading my power supply....Lets not get into that >.< ...

I noticed the extruder has a rather low current limit, 0.192V, meaning, .48v.

Does anyone know why they keep it so low by default? Seems like a higher rating might help push through some of the partial clogs that aren't so bad at first. Otherwise I'd either rather increase it (I set it to .32 for now- I wouldn't go much higher) or switch to a NEMA14 that might be lighter than the nema17 that they have on there right now.

I hope this hasn't been asked before. I have not found anything by searching the forums.
