heartless wrote:

oh so very tempting, Carl - what are you asking for either? (feel free to pm if you want)

will toss the idea out to the other half and see what he says.

I just landed that Flashforge for 431 bucks.. Awesome deal and nothing wrong with it. Dual extrusion here we come. So both of my others are going up for sale. I don't need nor want three printers.

Since the Da Vinci has been exorcised of the XYZ demons with a RAMPS 1.4 controller and LCD as well as two additional LED strips and an upgraded power supply I was considering 425 plus shipping unless your around Dallas then you could pick up.

The Delta once running will be let go for 300 plus shipping or you can pick up.. It has an upgraded 75 amp supply and 3 nine watt LED spot lamps for illumination. Needed the bigger supply for them. I have all the parts printed now in Neon Yellow thanks the Da Vinci and I am now just waiting for an LCD because I used it on the Da Vinci conversion.

Update:

Well the seller just informed me he dropped the printer while trying to pack it. He said the frame broke. It is/was one of the wooden models. So he canceled the order and refunded my money. My bet is he just did not want to let it go for such a low price. I looked at his feedback and in the last 6 months there was a neg saying pretty much the same thing and that he relisted for a higher price. i am going to keep my out for it to be relisted. Not much i can do but I will confront him about it if I see it relisted. IMO if you don;t want it to sell too low then you should set a reserve although most things on a reserve don't sell or don't sell well.

But the Da Vinci is still up for sale if anyone is interested. I may or may not sell the Kossel now. All depends on what kind of other deals I run into. I really want a dual extruder and I am done with XYZ, so don't even mention a DUO.

The SD4 is dialed in so much better at this point - still in the tweaking stages with this one.
I think I may have the skip/jump issue resolved by upping the vref voltage - have been torture testing for the last hour, LOL

running this: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:37525 (the one in the upper right corner)

Lots of angles for it to work thru, lots of little bits, too (scaled it up a bit in RH to really give it a workout) Working on print #2 right now. 1st one came out pretty good, no skips that I can see... # 2 is close to being done and also looks good.

$ for $ this isn't a bad printer, but I don't see us using it for ABS. runs fine with the PLA tho. And great for demo's at the local hobby shop - nice open design lets people really see what is going on.

now if I could just get the oozing under control, it would be great! LOL time to play with retraction settings i guess...

I tried printing out a couple of the ones on thingiverse, but they dont fit the Folgertech carriages very well.

the first one I tried was far to narrow - nice idea, but just not right for the 2 flanged bearings the belt rides on.

the second one was ridiculously large - I could fit both of the flanged bearings, and another I had lying around and still had room to spare.

neither of them fit the backside of the carriage right either - Folgertech apparently modified the through hole by putting a chamfer in the corners, all the tensioners I found had square corners...

so a bit of measuring and modeling later and I have a customized tensioner for the X axis made specifically for the Folgertech carriages, fits the two flanged bearings the kit comes with, and an M3 washer on each side perfectly.

as soon as I can figure out how to upload to thingiverse, I will make it available to all

yeah, I guess it is time for an update..

carl - if you do pick one up, I highly recommend the following upgrade parts....

spring loaded extruder: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:650957
Works so much better than the stock solid piece it ships with.

Y axis belt tensioner: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:188958
The low profile version is a perfect fit for the 2020 Prusa i3 - printed one up yesterday and installed - works nice.

still looking for a good X belt tensioning solution, but when I find one (or design one?) I will share.

we also printed up some better thumb wheels for bed leveling...the stock ones are ok, but small - these are bigger and easier to adjust: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:29782

Saturday's demonstration thing went pretty well considering it was such short notice (barely a week). had a few people stop by, ask questions, & check things out. A couple of guys thinking really hard about getting into 3D printing - they had lots of questions.
