Same brand and same color but different batch can have an optimal temperature deviation by as much as +/- 20 degrees based on my experience.  The biggest issue is some brands are now using recycled materials and even adding additives such as poly carbonate to ABS. What was once pure ABS and fairly standard settings would work on most vendors and colors no longer hold true and there is significant deviation.

I know there are differences, thats why you can put manually parameters in EEPROM, so idea was to make two "modes": one that you can decide from DB and second would be manually, like some sort of a wizard step-by-step user enters values and at the end just flush them to EEPROM if he is satisfied with numbers

The DB idea seems a good one, however do all manufacturers achieve consistent results in their filament manufacturing?
Do you get what you pay for, and do cheaper filaments vary more than expensive ones?
If so it would create difficulties in a DB where one filament batch from a manufacturer may be very different to another batch.

I have no idea how much variation there is between batches from a manufacturer, and would be very interested to find out!

I want to avoid any connection to the computer because i dont like it. Display looks so much better solution. Unless there is a software that connects to your davinci printer and resets cartridge in the printer, i dont like it. And yes, why inventing something? If people didnt trying to do something, we would still live in a cave without internet, cell phones, facebook and 3d printers

They have several that in aqddition to the onein the device it has to be connected to a second Adruino for it to work. I thought those where the ones you wanted to stay away from, not Adruino period.

Considering most printer logic is Adruino and everyone has the software to deal with it, you will cause issue trying to move away from it. Why not stay with what works instead of reinventing the wheel?

They already have one that does not need Adruino. It has it's on app that allows you to change temps and usage. Just set the cart on it, open the app, make changes, click done, and the cart is ready to go. I got it on ebay with the app for 20 bucks.
