They sell this filament to require you to buy an upgraded head that will work with it which puts more money in their pockets.

They are doing the same as they did with PLA. The third generation 1.0 was advertised as being PLA compatible. However once you bought it and opened it, you find in the manual and nowhere else that in order to use PLA on the 1.0 you would have to buy an optional upgraded extruder head at your cost of 95 bucks.

They might have some future plans but it is more than likely that the only way it is possible to print flexible's with da vinci is if the hardware is redesigned in the future iteration's of the printer. I personally own da vinci 1.0. I replaced the stock extruder with e3d and added a layer fan and now I can print pla with no problems. Still, before I redesign the extruder gear I will not try flexible filaments.

Flexible filaments are usually rubbery so they tend to bend and da vinci extruder gear is not suitable for them. You may be able to use flexible filament by running it slowly but then another problem occurs - you need a layer cooling fan and da vinci does not have one. You could of course fabricate it but then you also have to improve da vinci extruder cooling to stop the heat creep from occurring. It is possible to print flexible's on a da vinci but it does mean a redesign of the printer from your part - swap the stock extruder for something like e3d, use a layer fan, change the extruder gear with something that restricts the filament from bending before reaching hot end etc.

New version of xyzware I have with my Da Vinci 1.0 aio support flexible filament (nylon?) but I am not sure support this:

I can change temperature with Simplify 3d but I am not sure if I can jam extruder with it, what do you think about it?
