I'm not sure about e3d's tolerances or my printer's tolerances on the matter, but I have one heatsink that fits the mk5 very well and another that wobbles. I put one wrap of electrical tape around the groove of the heatsink and it fit well.

1) Nope! Save it for building a fire
2) If properly printed, no.
3) The two holes on the sides? On the right side, screw in an M3 screw. This is for your endstop. If you do not add this screw, it will slam, give a horrid banging sound, and give you quite a scare.

Wardjr, thank you for uploading the files for the mk5.

A few questions:

Finally fitted the Ed3 v6 hot end and the printer is working better than ever. Big thanks for your help and advice.

Thanks again. I will order a 12v ed3 now. I do have access to a 3d printer at work so could print the MK5 straight away. Could you send me the link.

SD2,3&4 were all 12v.
The MK5 you get from there is designed to fit the V-6 and are only a temporary. They are designed to get you printing again so you can print a higher quality one. When you get to that point let me know and I'll link the file. Alternately you may find one you like better on thingiverse. Just ensure it is for the V6 and not the V5 as they are different.
In the mean time study up on the firmware change the instructions are in the WIKI. If you don't know what board you have let me know and I can help you sort it out.

Wow! Thanks for the fast reply. I have just been on there website and will order an E3d. I have the solidoodle 2 gen, do I need the 12v or 24v. Sorry for the question but I'm not sure.
