If you look at the eBay posting, it states right in there that the resetter will only work with firmware up to release J.

There is info all over the 'net on various forums that clearly state that resetters were blocked/disabled in later firmware releases.

My printer is running 1.2.5.

Why would there be so much info out there on how to downgrade if this wasn't the case?

Hello All

I took delivery of my new cartridge resetter yesterday.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/XYZprinting-da- … 1e97ba6028

I had the mount printed and ready to go and the module fit like a glove, I just needed to enlarge the pin holes a little with a round file.

This morning, I reset an almost-empty black cartridge that I had set aside for the test. The reset took mere seconds and the results stated that I now had 240m remaining in the empty cart.

This morning, I removed the full cart I had in the machine and replaced it with the empty, reset cart. I loaded the filament I had from the spool I have hanging on the back of the machine.

I'm running the most current XYZ firmware on my printer and I fully expected to have a cartridge error. To my pleasant surprise, the empty cart reads a full 240m and my printer is ready to go.

It would seem then that as long as you do not have XYZware installed on your computer then a firmware downgrade is not necessary to run reset carts.

I use Simplify3d and completely removed XZYware from my computer a few days ago since I never used it anyway.

This is good news for those who don't wish to go through the firmware downgrade process.
