With the various firmware versions/etc, I would expect differences in getting things to work, especially if we're also using different computer op sys. I'm running a mac with Yosemite. Getting cartridge info always works for me.
But, depending on how the error gets induced does make a difference for me...
The files on the SDcard for the J firmware are different than those on mine. I pulled the card out the day the machine arrived, made a backup of it so, when XYZware autoupdated (before I knew enough to dump that app), I was able to recover to original delivered setup.

If the error occurs when I turn on the printer, getting Cartridge Info works.
If the error occurs when I click the Print to USB, I have to turn the printer off and exit Simplify3D. Turn it back on, get Cartridge Info, then print.
I learned to always get Cartridge Info when a print finishes and not turn off the printer if planing another print.

@galaxy99

That didn't work for me. The only way I can get rid of a "Cartridge Error" is to start a demo print, and then stop it during warmup.
Then I can resend.

I am on 1.1J with a Davinci 1.0 and zerocart.

A Cartridge Error discovery

When a Cartridge Error appears in Simplify3D, I mistakenly assumed it was the loose Zerocart and did the usual ‘wiggle it around’ and ‘weight it down’. Naturally, part of the ‘trying to get it to work’ process included turning off/on the machine.

Well, I discovered the trick - it always works without fussing with the Zerocart being loose - When the ‘Cartridge Error’ occurs, simply go to the Info panel on the printer and get the Cartridge Info - that clears the problem!! No need to turn off/on or wiggle anything.

I’ve done this so many times now that it’s 100% repeatable for me and I’m wondering if anyone else has discovered this?
