Uninstall the current version os XYZWare and use this to reinstall - problem solved.

I downloaded a second print from Thingiverse, but i just dropped the .stl file into XYZWare and tried to print - I am assuming this is the messup. When I plugin / plugout the printer it most definitely pops up the notification regarding the port.

I assume you tried to print one of the demo's (?)  And, first you need to 'Export' (unless you're printing a demo right from the LCD panel), then you should be able to print.
The machine won't print models that it can't slice and you won't necessarily get a warning/info pop-up - so, try one of the demo prints (they're already sliced and gcoded).

Are you using the disk it came with? If so go to their site and get a more recent version. Also dig around here a bit. There have been many post on this same topic.
