Its good to hear that you may have successfully reflashed your board! (We'll know for sure later) Your description does make it sound like a loose connector now. I would probably start with the USB connector on the board since it is famous for becoming loose. Try to hold the cable near the board in different directions and see if that helps. When laying on the side, the cable may have tension in a different direction than when it is upright.

I've gotten that error before it wasn't the absence of a Bootloader I just don't remember what the issue was. I do know this sometimes a warning is just that, a warning. I have flashed with errors before and had no issues. I would guess you have something incorrect in the configuration.h so don't get discouraged.

That's the same board I had before I got the rumba - it's a 644. I can't remember exactly why at the moment but I gave up on flashing it for some reason or another. I think it had something to do with the chip lacking a bootloader from the factory and me not wanting to mess with an AVR programmer at the time.

So select in configuration.h file SD2 or 3(4) and then choose what board you have from the list.
For a stock setup that's all you need to do. Then click save then verify. If no errors it's good to flash. Just hit the reset on the board and click upload. It will tell you when it's done.
If your issue was firmware related then this should fix it. If not your back to connection issues.
