I applied a lot of Lithium Grease, and noticed my SD2 began acting normal again.

The SD Press still acting up/no change.

In the end...the Solidoodle 2 is simply a better/more accessible machine. The print head on the SD Press
is far superior...but everything else is a qualified disaster.

On the Solidoodle FB page, they mentioned they will release updates (Firmware?) For the SD Press, maybe
that will solve some of the major issues this machine has.

I would love if the SD2 came with the print head of the SD PRESS, and the attachment cable is 'outside' the box,
not currently bunched up.

I doubt they'd be stupid enough to start refusing refunds on this. That would almost certainly result in a lawsuit somewhere along the way. Reading the threads on here, it looks like some have had some RMA success, not sure if any of these were for refund though... those probably gave up on the forums when they got their money returned.
As for the issue. It's probably worth checking that the wheel on the right of the machine hasn't slipped out of place and that the small shaft in the middle of it has the screws properly tightened. Also make sure that the screws that hold the motor in place are all tightened down. One other thing to check is that the vref trimpot is set correctly.
Obviously, if I didn't order this internationally, then I would have returned my and invested in a different brand, so it's up to you if you feel like diagnosing/fixing/working around all the issues with this printer.

Haven't heard zero from Solidoodle regarding the X-Axis issue, and so
far: Zip.

The question is: I have roughly 20 days to ask for my money back/return
this machine. If I wait for Solidoodle to get back to me...and the return
date has elapsed: Will Solidoodle honor the return policy or give me the "Sucks to be you"
routine?

I think this machine should not have been released in it's current incarnation. It has
some profound design flaws/defects. The marketing of this machine as a "Plug and Print"
is class action lawsuit worthy.

Sam Cervantes needs to get ahead of all this and do what car companies do when
there's a profound defect in their product: RECALL
