I know that there is a UV resistance additive put into certain plastics (such as Nylon) to make them suitable for outdoor applications.

According to Taulman's site however, this additive decreases layer bonding. So it might be that if you can get nylon pellets with UV resistant additive, and use a filastruder (modified with a 15v psu) to make the filament, you could make outdoor cases, but they would not be impact resistant.

Maybe for your cases, if you have two extruders, you could set one with UV resistant filament to print the perimeters of the case, and non-UV resistant filament to fill the inner layers of the case, and provide more strength. It's just an idea, and it would be a big project to research and try, but I hope the idea helps.

I have a project i've been requested to work on but the items to be made are for outdoor cases, for electronics. They would liek them to have high UV protection to prevent the plastic degrading can anyone recommend a filament. or is this something that would have to be specially formulated or would Nylon be better?
