As others have mentioned, a fairly cheap solution is ABS glue and a glass print bed. You dissolve some of your scrap abs in acetone (in a sealed container, over a few days), and it makes a thick slurry I think even up to 40% abs?. You apply this to the build platform, and the acetone evaporates, leaving an incredibly sticky surface.

I've solved most my warping problems by hairspray + brim if really needed + good print design (some models need supports in certain areas to transfer the warping stress away.) Hairspray+ kapton should be pretty killer. If anything, I often have a bigger problem removing prints than warping prints.

The prints are probably not sticking to the ABS print bed because it is unheated, but the prints are not warping because the build chamber is kept hot enough. Since we can't print in an oven, we have to prevent warping by sticking the print to the bed.

I origionally got this idea from lopking at the comercial printer that is in my university's library. Their printer has ABS build platforms that slot into place. the build platforms do degrade reletively quickly but the sheets that I ordered were less than dollar piece.

@cmetzel ABS should stick but not bond well to cold ABS so it should be reletivlely easy to shear the print off. I may also use a lower first layer extrude temperature if it ends up sticking too well.

@ronsii I will post results when my sheets arive probably early next week.
