But thats a lot of work.</p></blockquote></div><p>I can only imagine the precision is pretty dreadful so I can understand wanting to swap.</p><p>OP if you want bearings you are going to have to design your own carriages or determine if you can somehow adapt lawsy&#039;s design in hacks/mods for your press.</p>]]></description>

There&#039;s no proprietary screws or needlessly complex design stopping this.</p><p>They used open source firmware, so of course that piece is open source. They didn&#039;t really release it themselves, but you can go to that project&#039;s source page.</p><p>As a result of the firmware being open source, the commands to control the printer are also open. You can use any compatible software you want.</p><p>The filament is also standard and there&#039;s no attempt to lock out competing filament vendors. They have a special spool for the Press, but you can use any other type with not much compromise.</p>]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>The Press is a very inexpensive printer with cheap materials and quality control to match.</p><p>I am not an expert, but if you know enough about this issue to see it&#039;s a problem, you can probably just use grease as you feel is needed, and be done with it. </p><p>Given how many issues existed out of the gate, it&#039;s a bit naive to expect any part of this printer to last long term, but it is modular and open source, so you can always fix or upgrade components as you wish.</p>]]></description>
