I've discovered that the idler wheel inside the extruder will also creak. You have to take the extruder off, pop off the retainer clip, clean it, grease it, and then put it back together. Nice and quiet again.

Hi,
The joined image shows what I have.
These 4 screws were not completely tight but I just tightened them. However, the idler gear is quite loose.
Is it normal, could it be the case for the clicking noise on filament retraction ?

As for the brass gear, I see no hex screw. Like browning said, it is pressed on.

Thanks

Hi,
on my Da Vinci 1.0, every retraction the extruder makes create a click sound. My idler gear seems a bit loose but dang, the machine only have less than 150 hours. Could it be the idler gear ? I checked the voltivo thread about the pulling lever but it does not seems to be my lever.

the print comes off great so I doubt it's the temperature. I am using XYZ's filament.

Any idea ?

Thanks
