Such as in your case make the top hollow. The scanner cannot tell what is hollow or solid if it see a dark area it just assumes a solid. You have to edit the opening in by hand. There is supposed to be an editing software package included that is used to clean up a scan and do what you want to do.</p><p>You also double posted, please delete the other thread. We only need one.</p></blockquote></div><p>I think by &quot;scanning&quot; he really means slicing.</p><p>I don&#039;t know which software you are using, but in slic3r you have to set top solid layers to 0 to have a model printed without top layers.</p>]]></content>
