Thanks!

Also, I've been in a "Multi-Material" mindset lately...but if you simply need to print an assembly of parts in a single material, then make sure your clearances are correct in your SW assembly, then make sure the "Save all components as a single file" option is checked. This will create one STL with all of the distinct components in one file and in the correct position.

Cheers!

By post-processing, I am referring to the steps required in the export of the .stl files and in Slic3r...

Thus far, Solidworks does not support processing multi-material STL files directly. But it is fairly straightforward if you construct a 2 part assembly; assuming that each part is a distinct and manifold body.

Once the assembly is to your satisfaction, use the "Save As" .stl; and under "Options" make sure "Save all components of an assembly in a single file" is unchecked.

This will save 2 distinct STL files but retain in each the origins necessary to pair them together properly during slicing.

Then, follow the instructions in the video posted in thread below at about the 10 minute mark. Note that Slic3r will need to be run independently (not in RH) for this to work:

http://www.soliforum.com/topic/9155/dual-printing-stls/

So this procedure, while a bit of a pain, is fairly straightforward...I plan on doing a full-blown run through once I get my Chimera / Cyclops
