I mocked up a few tibial poly inserts for a presentation to a huge Asian Ortho manufacturer. I always get a little giddy when I can use my scrappy lil SD2 to make demo pieces for big wigs : )

I use Octave filament also , very pleased with it.If you buy directly from them and don't mind waiting a bit longer to get, you can get some good deals. I purchased the 3 spool deal for 78.00 and free shipping. It took a week from california but I was just stocking up.

I made the adjustment and it has been working much better!

Even though I've calibrated the extruder steps and the flow rate/thickness, I've always had issues with moist filament. After manual extrusions, I get another quarter inch or so of ooze if I wait.

Anecdotal evidence suggests that part of it is my official Solidoodle filament. After this spool I'm going back to Octave and never looking back : ) The Solidoodle stuff tends to curl and warp like not other.

Hey all,

I have a SD2 that gives me reasonably decent prints. I have always had a lingering problem with those little boogers of material that seem to gather at the start points. I've tweaked my print settings to try and keep it to a minimum, but I am still envious of those people who manage to get perfect prints right off of the build plate. I have done the stepper motor extrude calibration, the single wall print test calibration, and I've also done the xy stepper motor eeprom calibration and belt tension. Below is a pic. Thanks in advance for any help!
