I turned down the extruder slightly and now it hasn't skipped yet.

Your VREF is the trim pot for that axis it sounds like you need to turn it up slightly.

I have decided that it the the motor for the y axis it failing. About 5mm into a 20mm cube it starts slipping. I notice the it clicks when it slips it it the same sound it made when the cable got in the way of it homing just a single click for each slip. It it possible that thr motor needs more power or is the motor bad? I have a ticket in with solidoodle but I haven't heard from them lately. Any help would be great.

One was wiggly.

How were you able to access the ones in the corners?  I was only able to access the two right next to the stepper motor.

Is there a way to tighten the belt tension?  It is the only thing I can think of. Ideas anyone? At this point I wish they would have left me more room to do "warranty work" lol. I have submitted a ticket but I have a feeling there are people here who know more tests hen solidoodle does about the press.

You can tighten them if the gear is slipping on the shaft. If the belt is loose, you need to loosen the two mounting screws on the stepper and tighten the belt.

Instructions from solidoodle support:

To tighten the pulleys for the Y-Motor, you will want to loosen the two screws holding the Y-motor in place. You should now be able to freely move the Y-motor up and down. Use a screwdriver or some kind of lever to lift the motor so that the belt is as tight as it can be, then re-tighten the two loose screws. We are working as hard as we can to get some support guides up, but like I said, we are very busy over here but we should have some up within a week or so.

I would check the set screws first. There are two on each pulley. I had a loose one and it caused the pulley to rotate on the shaft about an 1/8 of a turn.
