You need something capable of 10A on +12v. Remember that old PC PSUs need load on their 3.3v and 5v rails - a 5 ohm, 5w resistor on each should be enough.

Here is a another interesting solidoodle problem.
I was gladly printing away today, then suddenly, "BANG".
The horror of burnt silicon engulfed my panic strickend nostrils.

I measured the 12V output from the power supply, and alas, no voltage.
I proceeded to tear open the power supply to inspect the source of the problem.

Just as I thought. Blown mosfet. dead short across all pins.
Cause: Overheat + china parts.

I will be making a case with solidoodle to have the power supply replaced, as the printer is not even 6 months old.
