Thanks, that will be very helpful. I had heard there were problems with it when I bought it. The price is right though and what I read was that the modifications wouldn't be too hard. I don't imagine I'll be printing anything on the day I get it. I'll have to go find threads or start my own to get more specific information about assembly and use.

Hi Joe, congrats on your purchase.

Delivery from QUBD is sometimes very difficult. I have a Two Up and there are significant upgrades that need to happen to get good prints out of your One Up. Thankfully, I had my SD2 to print the upgrade parts for it. The hot end clogged very often for me on some filament and if you have to increase the hot-end temp, you get heat creep up the barrel that clogs the extruder. Lots of good information at the fabric8r forum.

-- ggunners

Hello, I am Joe.

A couple of months ago I made a post in order to get people to take a 3D printing related survey to use in a class I was taking. I did not make an introduction post at that time because I did not yet have a 3D printer or any related device.

I have researched 3D printers for over a year now desperately wanting one and making plans about what I could use it for. I've noticed them before that but at that time I mostly ignored them as being too expensive to think about. I have now purchased a OneUp 3D printer and am waiting for it to be delivered. So, that will be my starter kit and I now joining this forum more officially and participating.

Up front though I'll admit to not having any regular habits with my free time. It's likely I'll have periods where I check the forum everyday posting wherever I think it's merited and reading many people's posts. Then I might not log in for a month or two because something else has come up. I don't really plan or announce these things either.

So, if there is room for such an erratic presence here. I look forward to discussing 3D printers and whatever else as I learn the make cool things.

(TL;DR) Hello, I am Joe.
