You are absolutely right fredaxe, it is only a study labeled "dangerous". Everyone should know what he does. It makes only sense for people, who are used to work with "prototypes".
On the other hand I tried to show a concept for a very cheap pelletizer. It has to be developed further.
As You found out yet, the blade could scratch the metal tube. Even if there is no crash, the pellets might be useless because they contain metal parts. The extruder might take the pellets, but the hotend will clog.
My next step is to fix the position of the Forstner-drill-bit (again the question: Is this the right english idiom for this?). Then the most problems should be fixed.
Thank You all for the discussion. Go ahead :-)

There were some good ideas on building a pelletizer. My approach to this was to find an extreme cheap and easy way to pelletize filament. Don't laugh about this simple construction. It is only a first idea, - but it works. So let's go ...

I took a Forstner-drill-bit (I do not know the right english idiom) and a 1/2" water pipe. Some drills, some cuts and a drill stand. Look at the pictures ...
http://sturm.selfhost.eu/wordpress/wp-c … 682585.jpg
http://sturm.selfhost.eu/wordpress/wp-c … 772389.jpg
http://sturm.selfhost.eu/wordpress/wp-c … 002834.jpg

If You try to build this on Your own, please be aware of the risks! Speed down Your power drill! Wear eye glasses!
You can find more info in my blog: http://sturm.selfhost.eu/wordpress/pell … -billiger/

Regards
Thomas
