That take care of any metal particles. I've made filament by sweeping up dirt and pellets off the floor before.

It is comforting to know I am not the only one who occasionally spills a measuring cup of pellets..

Everyone should know what he does. It makes only sense for people, who are used to work with "prototypes".
On the other hand I tried to show a concept for a very cheap pelletizer. It has to be developed further.
As You found out yet, the blade could scratch the metal tube. Even if there is no crash, the pellets might be useless because they contain metal parts. The extruder might take the pellets, but the hotend will clog.
My next step is to fix the position of the Forstner-drill-bit (again the question: Is this the right english idiom for this?). Then the most problems should be fixed.
