I have done business with him on a previous printer and have trust in his products and designs. This one runs on Smoothieware firmware. He has other boards as well that will run on Marlin/Sprinter Firmware which is the typical standard for open source printers. You can Google it for more information. It should allow me to run most host including Cura which is my main go to and Craftware which a free version of Simplify 3D but in my opinion may be more powerful. I just chose the Smoothieware version as it seems to be the next thing in open source.

I know Repetier firmware does not work with Cura, and it does not work with Craftware. I have tried both. I am actually changing my mainboard out to something more open source. So I can use any host I desire.
