I also should state that it should always start in the center or near it with exception to a model such as this one that obviously starts on the edges. It sounds like your true bed center maybe offset as well some how. Either in the slicer or in firmware. Since you are using all stock I don't really see how that can happen. When you print very small objects like the demo birdbath, does it start in the middle of the bed or is it offset some what?

Repetier firmware seems to have communication protocol error in it where it does not tell the software when the printers buffer is full. So it just streams all the file to the printer and the printer will just print whatever got loaded to the buffer and just stop like it is done. In its mind it is. Have not figured out what causes it. Work around is just to print from the SD card. That wont help you either since you confirmed samples on the printer do the same.

Even the metal filaments from Proto-pasta. You can also change the nozzle size for better quality prints or faster prints. You can go from a .5mm nozzle to a .1mm nozzle. Of course anything below .3 you are asking to get clogged if you get poor filament. Right now with the Da Vinci 1.0 you can only use ABS with stock setup. Even once the release PLA in a few months only the DUO and Aoi will be able to use it.

I know what the motor is lol, but not the driver.
I think I know what the problem may be. I am using 3rd party filament from florida-filaments com and I have the spool holder on the top of the machine. I have the filament routed through the lid opening ( where you would put your hand to lift the lid) and found when pulling the filament toward the front edge of the bed, the filament has to make a sharp u shape bend through the lid opening. I found I had to pull kind of hard to get the filament to the front edge area of the bed. Even though the spool holder I made has bearings, still kind of hard to pull filament at such a sharp bend. I think that is why the motor is getting hot. I am not sure how strong of a pull, a motor can pull filament? thoughts?

I am going to mount the spool holder directly behind the machine tomorrow and drill a hole straight into the stock xzy filament grommet tube, and run my filament through there for less stress pull on the filament and see what happens.

I have mine feeding through the top door and on a bearing based holder as well. I have yet to have issue with it, but I have no printed beyond the first 3 inches of the bed yet. All mu prints have been out to about 45mm from center max so far. I am switching over to a Bowden setup with the E3D hotend in a few days so I just need it to print long enough and good enough to finish my carriage for the new hotend.
