Running Repetier on a Windows tab should be simple. Aliexpress has some in the $125 range. I doubt you would need much power just to drive a printer. You probably wouldn't want to slice on one.

Just thought about this again. It seems like it would be a GREAT idea. You could log into the tablet remotely to see a print while you are away from the house, etc, you could log in to the tab to start a print or change settings, etc... Just seems like a GREAT idea, really.

I was also wondering about this bc I saw the Windows Tablets are dirt cheap these days. Ian, would that be a good plan? Seems like it would be a great idea to free up a computer from running the doodle.

You can get 8" Galaxy Tab 3s for about $100 these days. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-Galaxy- … 3a9dc03b43

The cheap generic ones can be hit or miss. They can be so slow they are nearly non-functional. I had a Polaroid one that took nearly a minute to load every new page in the Play Store. I think the low price comes from slow, outdated hardware that is underpowered for the more current Android versions loaded on to them. It's better to look for good deals on used brand name tablets that are a couple of years old.
