@elmoret I managed to break a gear inside my beta motor looking into it there are fewer gears in it and there a cast material that looked almost brittle compared to the stock/ks motor gears.
this happened after about 20hours of my first real use of the thing, granted the barrel/screw failed. now i have a twisted barrel with a jammed screw. its fine though because i've extra's.
think the problem was extruding a hips/santoprene mixture.

on another note i have managed to put http://www.parts-express.com/mabuchi-mo … m--259-210 into the stock and ks motors to reach speeds that about match the beta motor and have extruded tons of material with them so far, for the ks motor its more of a pain than stock and the gear has to be pressed off without damaging the gear to bad, and put back on the other shaft with a strong epoxy like jbweld.

50-100% faster? No problem. You'll need a beta motor for 50% faster, and to overvolt it/add cooling for 100% faster.

500% faster? You'll need a much more powerful motor (expensive), possibly a new feedscrew/barrel (very expensive), and then you'll battle diameter tolerance problems from unstable viscoelastic flow. Industrial extruders get around the latter by either using very expensive laser mics, or complicated die-draw equipment.

I designed the Filastruder to be as inexpensive as possible but still extrude quality filament faster than 1-2 printers could use it up. Going much faster gets expensive quickly.
