No binder clips is indeed better. My bed magically warped after quite a while of being flat so I can't really use clips anymore. I'll hijack this a bit-where can I get a replacement 8x8 kapton square cheaper than Solidoodle? Damaged my kapton a while back from printing on it a lot and ripped it up.

I've had luck just letting the bed sit at temp for a little while before starting a print, the glass sticks fine for me without cycling so you can try that too. If it does come loose, though, you'll want to be there when it happens or you'll be unhappy. I haven't upgraded my bed yet so cycling 3 times would take quite a while and I like to swap glass to start another print. Since the bed takes 10 minutes to reach 108 I don't want to lose the heat.

Just spray the bottom of the glass with hairspray and set it on the aluminum plate with or without the Kapton tape in place. Then heat/cool 3 times and it'll stick yet still be removable without the warping and other issues caused by binder clips.
