I would suggest flashing the printer and either loading it with stock firmware or custom firmware.
Here is a tutorial to load it with custom firmware to open the printer up to a LOT more settings and features (Including using any filament you want)

Check out this video to learn how to do it, you can also look around online to find the stock firmware that came with it but I haven't tried it yet.

Printer Bricked?

I was trying to use the XYZware again but it kept asking me to update the firmware, so id click no and try and continue, each time I did this the software would crash, After the 3rd attempt I went ahead and said "yes" update. It said: DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR PRINTER!.... It was at 12% when the software crashed... Now my machine has 2 bars at the top and I cant get it to sync, or work at all anymore.

Theres a tutorial on voltivo on how to unbrick the machine, but this longer works (file or folders are either out of date or missing).

Any suggestions?
