When I turn it on it reports temps fine. load the filament (fine), start printing and about 2-3 mins into print get the error 0014 and the temp will be 10c.
Thoughts? maybe a short? Which wires should I check? Getting really frustrated .
[UPDATE:] Its a short in the wire harness that plugs into the extruder. (This looks like fun to replace.)
]]>When exchanging the Thermistor is important that you replace it with the same type/characteristics! Otherwise your temperature regulation is confused what will result in wrong values (too high or too low)!

When you heat up the glued in new Thermistor the first time you will notice some little smoke, that is from the silicone - no worry it will stop smoking when it's fully cured!

]]>ok so everything is working fine, however printing the keychain once its towards the middle I hear several loud thuds and the prints goes all out of wack
They keychain only takes about 15 minutes to print. What I do just to confirm if it is cartridge related is to stay with the printer reach up through the front door and keep pulling filament out by hand so it is never under tension from the head. If this results in no thuds or errors then you will know the cartridge is the source.

Heat block/nozzle made of brass? There's definitely wires being exposed on the thermistor, not sure if they are touching the heat block or each other however, its hard to pin point. How do you prevent them from touching anything, they are so small.
I was able to slide the insulation back on the exposed wire. Again I think during the removal of the thermistor I must of pulled the insulation back a bit and caused the wires to expose. Geez, anyone ever trying to clean these things, be vary cautious when it comes to removing the thermistor.
The wires should have some very thin Teflon sleeves over them that should slide right up to the body of the thermistor and still fit in the hole on the heat block. Yes the heat block is the brass part with the integral nozzle. I would suggest maybe going on ebay and buying a few spares. They are just the common 100K thermistor used in most open source printers and most of them have the sleeves and are pre-wired with longer heavier wire for making connections above the extruder. Just search 3d printer thermistor and make sure they are 100K.
dude!!! you're a 3D printer hardware genius!!! The Teflon sleeves slid right up to the body just waiting for the silicone to dry before handling anything. Will post back once everything is back in place, crossing fingers...
