Getting really frustrated .

[UPDATE:] Its a short in the wire harness that plugs into the extruder. (This looks like fun to replace.)

The black paste is heat resistant Silicone. When you remove the litte screw from above you can carefully remove the silicone with a toothstick and then carefully pull on the two wires until the old Thermistor will come out.

When exchanging the Thermistor is important that you replace it with the same type/characteristics! Otherwise your temperature regulation is confused what will result in wrong values (too high or too low)!

I recently exchanged my stock Thermistor with this one: https://shop.stoutwind.de/Thermistor-mi … 0-K-radial - works very well and I've crossed checked the actual temperatures at the nozzle - all fine! I would recommend to order the temperature resistant silicone along: https://shop.stoutwind.de/Hochtemperatu … Gramm-Tube.

When you heat up the glued in new Thermistor the first time you will notice some little smoke, that is from the silicone - no worry it will stop smoking when it's fully cured!

Hope this helps!?

I just had this problem occur and for me the fix was as simple as running a demo print to heat the extruder up. Then I cancel the print can sent the file to my printer. It's stupid and it doesn't make any sense but it works! I would look at it as a kind of preheating thing like with an oven. I also have to do this now to unload filament.
