It uses an optical sensor to let you know when it is out of filament and to stop it. If the filament is too clear it will not be seen by the optical sensor and it will think it is always out of filament. So if you do try PET or any other types of filament I would suggest not wasting money on the clear stuff.

Maybe someone with more experience using alternative flaments will come along with a definite answer.

Does anyone know if the XYZ printer can be tweaked to print PET ? Ive read the requirements for printing PET are -
1. Heated build platform
2. Glass bed (optional, but great if you have one)
3. Extruder capable of 250°C

..... or is there a more suitable printer for printing PET?
