in slicer support settings set support thinner than main perimeters, also find best spacing for good support and then find an angle and shape of support that works best at avoiding becoming parallel to perimeter prints walls. may need to try things like 160% angle, spaced .25mm, etc. some settings will add time to printing but save time on cleanup or wasted prints.

juts because some people claim good prints of an object in 20mins dont mean those results will work for everyone. Id rather take over 2x longer to print an item and get results Im not ashamed to sell. is my way of looking at it.

It has things I like and things I hate so you will need to decide for yourself if the pros outweigh the cons. It makes fabulous support material, there's no doubt about that. I don't like its logic for retractions quite as much, but my printer hasn't been working well enough to really hone it in yet.

Try experimenting with the extrusion width of support material in slic3r. Also make sure you are using the latest version of slic3r, there are always improvements to support material with each release. Also experiment with the pattern angle--you might find a 45 degree angle support is easier to remove than the 0/90 degree supports here.

It really just comes down to experimentation it seems. I'll let you know when I print perfect supports hasn't happened yet. Just play with it and see what you come up with. There aren't really many rules.
