Hmm. Thanks for sharing the results. I think you would have gotten more responses if posted in the Filastruder forum, most folks wouldn't think to check in general discussion. I would send folks to take the survey, but that might introduce bias. Of course, neither of those things would help you get Filabot results.

Also, if the person claiming to have air bubbles, kinking, and stretching could PM or email me, I'd be happy to help out. I've never heard of someone experiencing all three - very odd. Anyway, if you see this give me a shout so I can get things up and running for you!

On the forums I usually go to the general section is busier than this. I probably should have watched this one for a bit to see if there was a more active section that this would still be relevant to.

As for the title, I was trying to avoid scaring people away with the word survey. In hindsight, I probably should have made it something more like "Filastruder vs Filabot". It might have been more intriguing. You live you learn.

The main thing is that I mentioned this as a method to gather information in the proposal memo I wrote at the start of the class. Now I've got to follow up on it or come up with a convincing reason not to. If this doesn't pan out I can at least show that I've made the attempt. It would've been more satisfying to get something worthwhile out of it though.

They're pretty anonymous and I don't think it would be a problem if I did.

Unfortunately, when I say my sources are limited, I mean to say that sources that would fit our requirements of credibility are limited. I am not allowed to cite forum posts because technically anyone can say anything they want to with no proof. As for the testimonials on your site. That fails reliability for the same reasons as well as it being on your site. What this survey is for is to account for bias by getting feedback from users hopefully not connected with either product.

Thank you for your interest and help though. Personally, I feel that getting the same information from a large number of sources is a proof of reliability in itself. But since this needs to be structured, I need for it to be in the form of a survey for my professor to accept it.

Hello, I'm a student at Columbus State Community College. I am writing a report comparing 3D printer filament extruders. Sources of information on these devices are limited. Because of this I’ve decided to seek help from the users in the form of these survey.

Please, if you own and/or use one of these devices, copy and paste the corresponding link at the bottom of this post into your address bar. This should take you to a survey on surveymonkey.com. These surveys are only four questions long and are multiple choice. I have split them into two surveys so that an individual that owns and/or uses both extruders may give input on both of them. If you only own and/or use one of these extruders, only fill out the survey for the one you own and/or use. They are clearly labeled and each survey also refers to which device the survey is asking about in each question so there will hopefully be no confusion.

Thank you for your time.

Filabot Survey
surveymonkey.com/s/58Y8LZM

Filastruder Survey
surveymonkey.com/s/5S73K6Y
