Just out of curiosity I was wondering how many of you guys with an S4 have The new style where the belts are one complete end to end piece like a normal car belt (not with a screw holding them in place) and with the Tensioners built into the front gear pulley holders. And how many of you have the old style where the belt is held in place by a screw through each end?

Also I wonder how hard it would be to convert to the new style?

Different carriage designs may change the readout of the gauge between users....so EXACT notches most likely will not help.
Keeping both Y belts the same tension are really the entire reason for the design. Just slide/command your extruder Home then place the gauge in the center.

Between this, confirming all wires are properly seated on the pins on your board, and added a fan to blow onto your board, you will have done about 80% of most users basic recommendations to solve your layer shifting dilemma.

Like others asked though, what should the tension be? How many notches?
And adding to that question, measuring at what spot and where should the carriage be?

I know this isnt pure math. But since this was made I guess we already agree theres more accurate ways to adjust the belts.
